Membership applications may be downloaded from the link to the right. Dues payment information is on the application form. Simply drop your form and your check for dues in the mail, or at the Kadena Gift Corner.

ELIGIBILITY
Section 1.
General: Membership in this association will be voluntary and is primarily limited to members of the DoD family. There will be two classes of membership as follows:
a. Active: The privilege of active membership will be extended to spouses of the commissioned or warrant officers of the Armed Forces on active duty, family members who are 18 years of age and are in residence with a sponsor who is a member, spouses of retired commissioned or warrant officers, widows and widowers of officers of the Armed Forces, spouses of civilian members who are eligible to be members of the Kadena Officers Club and self-sponsored members who are eligible to be members of the Kadena Officers Club. The organization shall reserve the right to deny any membership that would bring discredit upon this association. Denial of membership shall be for cause and passed upon by a quorum of general membership. An active member shall be eligible to hold office and to vote on any and all matters. Active members shall be entitled to the full use of all services, facilities and privileges offered by this association.
b. Honorary: The president, with the approval of the executive board, may grant honorary membership to any person not otherwise eligible for any other class of membership, who is in some manner connected with Okinawa and whose membership will, in the opinion of the president, benefit the association. Honorary membership must be requested in writing and renewed annually. Honorary members shall not be required to pay dues but shall have the same privileges as active members except for voting, the right to hold office, and the right to serve on committees.
Section 2.
In accordance with AFI 34-223, 11 Aug 03, Private Organization Program, paragraph 10.2, and AFI 36-2706, 1 Dec 96, Military Equal Opportunity Treatment Program, paragraph 1.1.2, membership discrimination based on race, religion, color, age, national origin, ethnic group, or gender is prohibited.
Section 3.
To be eligible for participation in all or any KOSC activities such as volunteering for the Gift Corner, Mah Jongg, book club and other activities that the KOSC sponsors, it is a requirement to be an active member of the KOSC. Exceptions are noted in the bylaws under Article 8, Guest.
Section 4. Termination of Membership
a. When the member submits a written resignation.
b. Upon permanent departure of the member from Kadena Air Base.
c. For cause deemed sufficient by a majority of the executive board to warrant termination of membership.
Section 5. Reinstatement
A member may be reinstated upon written application and approval of the executive board and after full payment of back dues/or assessments.
