Lunch Bunch

December lunch at JiJi's Cafe.

November’s KOSC Lunch Bunch meeting convened at a popular Hawaiian restaurant close to Kadena Gate 1, Ono Kau Kau.

With a very casual and laid back atmosphere, the restaurant offers covered outdoor and indoor dining.  After first placing your order, you can wander to a table that suits your needs and then wait (but not for long) for your food to be delivered.  Popular among our crowd was the Kahlua Pork and Garlic Chicken plate but some renegades branched out on the menu.

At a cost of 810 yen for the combo plate and drink, the lunch was a decent value and definitely a hit with the taste buds.  I was particularly fond of the Garlic Chicken but there were no complaints coming from anywhere around the table.  The restaurant is easy to get to, has plenty of parking, and the service is fast enough to take your spouse there for lunch too.

An Okinawa Hai review of the restaurant indicates that kids are welcome and also provides some additional insight on other menu items as well as directions.
